The Henry may be expanding in the near future. A residential property to the East of the Fox Restaurant headquarters is currently under contract. Rumor has it that a group of investors buying the property plan on rezoning the parcel to possibly accommodate a future restaurant. 4912 N 45th Street sits on the Southwest corner of 45th Street and Camelback Rd. The old 1,658 square foot ranch home that currently occupies the property was built in 1954 and is directly adjacent to the Fox office building. The old saying goes, “where there is smoke, there is a fire.” In this case, I smell something cooking and it smells a lot like a Sam Fox restaurant.
The rezoning process will definitely take some time and will probably be met with some resistance. Many of the residents will feel that the property encroaches onto the residential side of Arcadia. It is sure to bring traffic to and through the neighborhood so hopefully the owners can figure out an ideal parking situation off of Camelback.
In my opinion, Camelback Rd needs a facelift and this type of urban feel is exactly what we need. Not only are the new Residences at Camelback going vertical, but the entire Arcadia area is enjoying a revitalization that has been fueled by great restaurateurs such as Sam Fox.
