Arcadia: The Envy of North Scottsdale

The Arcadia real estate market has never been stronger.  I attribute the strength in our market to our central location, ranch home charm, great restaurants, and to North Scottsdale residents who are flocking to get a piece of the action.  In the past year, I have seen more and more Scottsdale residents from DC Ranch, Troon, and Silverleaf  trying to get into the  Arcadia area.  They must have just realized that there is more to Arizona than desert landscapes, chain restaurants, and cookie cutter homes.

Why wouldn’t these North Scottsdale residents envy all that we have here in Arcadia?  They see us frolicking in the streets, riding our cruisers, and grabbing a brew at OHSO on the weekends while they sit in their backyards staring at rocks.  While we stroll over to The Henry and LGO, Scottsdale is looking for their nearest Applebee’s restaurant.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they pulled into their neighbor’s driveway on a regular basis because the homes all look identical.

In the 1980’s it was cool to move away from the bustling city and into Scottsdale as it pushed North.  It was hip, fresh, and quiet.  Now, those same people that fled the city are back in a big way.  They are sick of the 40 minute commutes and rough landscape.  They miss the good eats and the Arcadia charm.

While I like to give these Scottsdale transplants a hard time, I’m glad that they are coming back to the ‘hood.
